The paddle is sanded using the orbital sanding using 50 grit down(up?) to 150 grit. Also the final shaping of the shaft is done with the coarse grits


kp_4317 Here 1/8 inch nylon cord is being epoxied to the edge of the blade. The epoxied nylon cord services to protect the edge of the blade.

After applying a primer coat of epoxy the glass is applied. I will glass both surfaces. The clothes pins are just for weighs.
kp_4322_ends Back to the poor man's lathe to turn the ends of the shaft to fit into the ferrules. Had I known the size to reduce the ends to I could have done it much easier while turning the shafts in the first place.
Well it's time to add the ferrules.
